Down IRCTC: When multiple people attempted to purchase Tatkal tickets around 10 a.m. this morning, a significant outage was noticed.
New Delhi:
Due to an issue with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) mobile application and website, thousands of people were unable to purchase train tickets this morning. For the second time in a month, the IRCTC mobile app was unavailable.
Those attempting to book Tatkal (emergency) tickets at 10 am reported a serious outage. The notice “unable to perform action due to maintenance activity” was allegedly displayed to them when they tried to visit the website.
Many users expressed their dissatisfaction on social media.
“Reserving Tatkal over the holidays is a nightmare. As soon as reservations open, servers fail. I’ve never used a worse website than this one. A person posted on X (previously Twitter) asking why, in spite of several complaints, this hasn’t been rectified. I’ve attached a webpage screenshot.
“IRCTC remains closed at 10:11 a.m.” Investigations and examinations are necessary for IRCTC, as frauds are clearly taking place. Another user posted photos of the website and stated, “By the time it opens, all the tickets are gone.
“During Tatkal booking hours, the IRCTC server is unavailable. During Tatkal booking hours, the IRCTC Rail Connect and IRCTC Next Generation eTicketing System are not functional,” a user commented.
“The IRCTC website has left me feeling quite disillusioned. Almost always, especially during peak Tatkal booking hours, it slows down or crashes! Millions of people depend on it, but the experience is still annoying. @AshwiniVaishnaw @RailMinIndia, please take immediate action! The fourth user wrote, “#IRCTC.”
