Shahid Kapoor had previously proclaimed that this role was one of his most challenging ones in the career so far. He confessed at the trailer launch, “This is the most complex character I’ve played. I’ve done challenging roles before, but Deva made me question whether I was capable of pulling this off.” Given the buzz from early reviews, one can say that all of that hard work and dedication has finally paid off.
Under Rosshan Andrrews’s masterful direction, Deva stitches a mixture of high-octane action along with touching drama and complex character arcs in one smooth flow. As Deva promises to carry a captivating cinema viewing experience for action-espousing cop drama lovers, Shahid Kapoor has pushed himself to limits for this role.
